Ryan and I got married on June 5 and spent the following three weeks touring the Dutch Caribbean. We took our new GoPro along for the ride and captured some sweet video for you!
We started our adventure at the Avila Beach Hotel in Curacao. While in Curacao, we did a whole lot of nothing and a little exploring. Honestly, I was so tired, I just wanted to sit by the beach – and that’s what I did! Our hotel was absolutely stunning and had everything we needed right on the property!
After Curacao, we took a tiny (tiny) airplane to Bonaire, a Dutch island just 50 miles east of Curacao. There, we stayed at the Bellafonte, a luxury oceanfront hotel. And, man, was it luxurious! From the balcony views to the oceanfront dock to the staff, it was absolute perfection. While in Bonaire, we did a lot of adventuring. We scuba dived (dove?) every morning and explored the island in the afternoons. Of the three islands we visited, Bonaire was by far our favorite. The laid back vibe mixed with the beautiful scenery and the kind people made it a perfect destination. We cannot recommend it enough.
Perhaps the best part about the Bellafonte was its relationship with VIP Diving, which allowed us to pick up scuba tanks on site. It made diving so easy! We simply grabbed our gear and our tanks from the on-site lockers, and took off to our dive site of choice. We also particularly enjoyed lunches at The Beach (a restaurant right next to the Bellafonte) and dinners at Eddy’s and Sebastian’s.
After Bonaire, we set our sights on Aruba. Unfortunately, we had to take two more tiny (tiny) planes to get there…This was our fourth time on beautiful Aruba, so we knew this island well. As always, the Marriott Aruba Ocean Club was stunning. A true highlight, however, was our brief stay at the Hyatt Regency – a spectacular property just down the beach from the Marriott. Our time in Aruba was filled with lazy beach days. Honestly, we didn’t do much else! We did have a few amazing meals. Next time you’re on the island, do not miss Papiamento or Bohemian, two amazing restaurants near Palm Beach.
After three weeks of lazy beach days, huge meals, and copious amounts of cocktails, it was hard to return to normal life. But we sure are grateful for the memories and the vacation days! ’til next time!
Thank you for sharing your awesome honeymoon adventures. It’s wonderful to have so many activities that bring both of you such happiness.

Thank you for sharing your amazing honeymoon adventure. Beautiful sights, hotels, and so much fun! It all looked perfect. I guess I need to put Bonaire on my places to visit.
You would love Bonaire! It’s an incredible, laid back island — we can’t say enough good things about the place. We hope to go there with you someday!
